The opening ceremony of the site was conducted by YB Dato' Wira Dr. Ku Abd Rahman Ku Ismail, Member of Kedah Executive Committee and Chairman of Industry and Investment Committee, in the presence of His Excellency Andreas Launer, Austrian Ambassador to Malaysia, Mr. Shing Leong Hui, Chairman of PAYER Group, and Mr. Michael Viet, CEO of PAYER Group, celebrated.
"I am very pleased that we can now officially open our newest location in the group of companies together in a festive setting. The expansion of our global setup is a strategically important step for the diversification of our supply chain in Asia. I would like to thank all employees who, with their commitment, have contributed to the fact that we were able to complete all steps on time,” emphasizes Michael Viet, CEO of PAYER Group, in his opening speech.
YB Dato' Wira Dr. Ku Abd Rahman Ku Ismail added, "PAYER Group's investment in Kedah State reflects the confidence of foreign investors in the stability of the ecosystem that supports investment in that state." With an approved total investment of around RM75 million, PAYER Industries Malaysia is one of three foreign companies from Austria investing in the state of Kedah in 2021.
The production site was built on an 8.498 square meter site in the Bakar Arang industrial zone. A total of around 250 jobs will be created for the residents of the state.
