Impact and Innovation

On July 16, 2025, the Styrian clusters hosted the fourth Transformation Lounge – this time in the unique setting of the Tennenmälzerei (Tennenmälzerei) in Graz-Reininghaus. The revitalized industrial building, once part of a brewery and now an inspiring meeting place, provided the ideal setting for the Summer Edition. Under the motto "Impact & Innovation," the focus was on the meaningful connection between sustainability, digitalization, and corporate responsibility in times of twin transition.

Three thought leaders from the fields of health, health tech and architecture shared their experiences on how sustainable and digital transformation can be made tangible and effective:

  • Alexandra Merdzo, Sustainability Manager at the AllergoSan Institute, showed how sustainability is practiced and developed in everyday company life – in the tension between regulatory requirements and lived corporate values.
  • Werner Koele, CEO and founder of SteadySense, spoke about digital product innovations in the healthcare sector and how technology and social added value can interact.
  • Karlheinz Boiger, architect and partner at Hohensinn Architektur, gave an insight into sustainable architecture – using the example of the Tennenmälzerei itself: a project in which new spaces were created instead of demolition through reuse, material awareness and vision.

The input made it clear: Transformation requires attitude, vision—and the courage to implement it. Afterwards, there was plenty of time for dialogue, encounters, and networking—in a relaxed atmosphere with a summer buffet.

In addition, Laura Davina König , project manager at Human.technology Styria, presented the funding opportunity “Enabling Transformation” / “Top Performance 2022+” – an initiative of the clusters to support Styrian companies in their sustainable and digital transformation.

Thank you for thinking ahead together!

We thank our speakers and all guests for their openness, energy, and valuable discussions. We look forward to continuing this conversation—in ideas, projects, and future events.
