The focus is on an intelligent, digital, and distributed care system that combines inpatient expertise with home-based, mobile, and regional care. The goal is to make selected hospital services available safely, digitally supported, and patient-centered, even outside of traditional hospital structures.
In this context, creativity and design come into play as strategic translation and application skills: They help to develop complex technologies, supply processes and digital interfaces in such a way that they are understandable, accessible and applicable in practice for different user groups.
The project addresses key challenges facing the healthcare system: an aging population, rising chronic diseases, a shortage of skilled workers, increasing costs in inpatient care, and supply bottlenecks in rural areas. At the same time, technologies such as telemedicine, sensor technology, AI-based monitoring, point-of-care diagnostics, mobile care units, and interoperable data spaces open up new possibilities for resilient, efficient, and prevention-oriented healthcare.
The planned demonstrator for a “Distributed Smart Hospital” It aims to connect several areas: Hospital@Home models, mobile diagnostics and care, predictive care, digital patient journeys, as well as prevention, nutrition, and recovery. This creates an approach that accompanies patients along the entire care chain – from early detection and acute care to follow-up care in the home environment.
We are looking for companies and organizations with expertise in areas such as MedTech, diagnostics, sensor technology, microelectronics, software, artificial intelligence, data analytics, telemedicine, connectivity, cybersecurity, mobile platforms, logistics, nursing, homecare, nutrition, prevention, research, and health and social institutions.
Partners can contribute technologies, products, pilot applications, test and application environments, clinical or healthcare expertise, research and development services, data and platform solutions, and evaluation and scaling concepts, among other things.
The project is currently in the consortium formation and project content definition phase. Interested companies, research institutions, and organizations are invited to contribute their expertise, use cases, or pilot project ideas.
