ACTIVE AND ASSISTED
LIVING
Theoretically, it's very simple:
New technologies can be so helpful and supportive in the everyday life of older people that they can live independently in their own four walls without constant help from relatives or nursing staff.
Even if physical or mental impairments would otherwise make it difficult.
In practice it looks a little different:
The trick lies in the gap between the products and those who are supposed to use them:
Does a 30-year-old software developer understand the needs of an old person?
Does a Best Ager know what help is available, where it can be purchased and how it works?
We would like to close this gap and in our strategic focus "Active and assisted living" we devote ourselves to connecting solution providers and end customers.
Organizations and institutions concerned with the health and well-being of older people play an important role in this networking.
PROJECTS
Lighter living room in Haus Ester, Graz
The Geriatric Centers Graz, the human technology cluster and other partners developed a showroom in which a large number of digital and physical helpers can be tried out on site in peace and quiet. In this way, end users can familiarize themselves with the tools and ultimately decide for them – or against them. Conversely, manufacturers of age-assisting technologies receive valuable information about the potential for improvement of their product directly from their target group.
Corporate Call: Smart Aging
As part of the “Corporate Call”, the “Smart Aging” association is looking for the most innovative solutions in the field of “active and assisted living”.
We are looking for start-ups that make life easier for older people with their solutions. The focus is on applications that can be used in the home.
The target group should be able to live independently and safely within their own four walls for as long as possible.
