Our Strenghts

International Force Based on Regional Quality

Human.technology Styria is active in two strategic fields of strength - MedTech as well as Pharma & BioTech - with the vision to generate economic and intellectual added value for members, partners, and customers through joint progress.

Additionally, Human.technology Styria is developing European lighthouse projects like the active and healthy aging (Styria is an awarded European reference region) or medical 3D-printing and is striving to support local companies in their innovation capabilities.

We are striving to improve existing strengths and to enhance the international visibility of our members and partners. Our region's capability is not a range of specific products or services but a broad portfolio that helps to advance the whole value chain in BioTech, Pharma and MedTech.

Mission von Human.technology Styria

MedTech

Regarding MedTech, the HTS is supporting companies and research institutions active in medical (micro)electronics, production technologies like precision mechanics or injection molding, materials expertise, automation, biomedical sensor technologies & diagnostic systems, software solutions, biomarker research & application and much more.

Strengths in Materials Know-how

An integral part of Human.technology Styria is the materials know-how of Styrian companies and research institutions regarding plastics, metals, and biomaterials including the latest technologies for surface treatment. International players like ams, Infineon, or AT&S cooperate with regional, small and medium enterprises and research institutions to develop new products and technologies.

Especially promising are the Styrian activities in research and development of new biomarkers that are used for diagnosing, of laser technologies and optical electronics, and medical 3D-printing used to produce medical implants. The European test center for medical devices and products at Graz University of Technology contributes to a vital community active in medical technologies as will do the clinical test center at the Medical University of Graz that will bridge the gap between medical research and therapeutic application.

MedTech Partner

Pharma & BioTech

Concerning biotech & pharma, the members of HTS are active in process development, plant design & engineering, simulation & optimization, scale down & scale up, industrial biotechnology, API development & analysis, flow chemistry & continuous production, packaging & logistics as well as biomarker research for therapeutics.

No Future Without Biotech & Pharma

The collaboration of our research centers like the Research Center for Pharmaceutical Industries (RCPE), the Austrian Centre of Industrial Biotechnology (acib), or the Center for Biomarker Research in Medicine (CBMed) with companies like VTU, Ortner Cleanroom Technology, GL Pharma, Stölzle Oberglas, or the ZETA group finally leads to industrial progress.

Part of our vital life science community are the center for clinical studies at the Medical University of Graz, flow chemistry technologies for continuous, miniaturized chemical synthesis, all aspects about industrial biotechnology, or research activities in bioinformatics and big data applications for the life science industry. Additionally, Human.technology Styria is maintaining a network for qualification, troubleshooting and consulting for BioTech and Pharma activities.
