The 7th INNOlounge on the topic "Go Green - Shift your competences" took place in the newly built Unicorn Center for Knowledge and Innovation Transfer in Graz on July 1, 2021. The invitation of the Green Tech Cluster, the ACstyria Mobility Cluster and the Human Technology Cluster was accepted by more than 40 participants. The event focused on the question of how green innovations lead to sustainable business success. Three Styrian companies gave interesting insights into their activities in the course of exciting keynote speeches and described their experiences in developing but also adapting their innovative business models.
Examples of successful competence shifting
Roland Fink (Managing Director of niceshops GmbH) gave insights into the strategic development of the company for sustainable, responsible action with the lowest possible impact on the environment. Architect Michaela Maresch (Managing Director of COMMOD HOUSE GmbH) reported on the business model of "the first house that grows with you". The revolutionary business model of modular houses, which have individual, flexible architectural design and stable value, offer modularity and individuality with their construction method. Descriptions by Gerald Pöllmann (Managing Director of Metalpine GmbH) on technology leadership and sustainable business success through the development and application of metal powder in 3D printing completed the keynote presentations.
In the following discussion session, which featured the three speakers as well as Sara Carniello (k3lab OG) and Bettina Reichl (Verpackungszentrum GmbH), the participants were given the opportunity to be inspired with regard to the expansion and change of business models. Possibilities of potential opportunities, as well as risks, were discussed. Afterwards, the participants enjoyed the opportunity to network and have stimulating discussions on the rooftop terrace with a view over Graz.
