Success story Logicdata – EDI

LOGICDATA embodies a well thought-out, holistic philosophy that meets the needs of partners and users with tailor-made, height-adjustable product solutions in the furniture sector.

LOGICDATA Electronic & Software Development GmbH

"We felt very well looked after by HTS throughout the entire EDI project and look forward to further joint projects."

Stefan Kieler, Sales Director

This is what we do
Stefan Kieler, Vice President Sales & Marketing, summarizes the company's range of activities in advance: “At LOGICDATA we develop mechatronic system solutions for adjustable furniture in the office and at home. With our innovative strength and a common vision, we have established ourselves as a premium supplier of height-adjustable tables and beds. As a one-stop shop, we are close to our customers and use our development spirit to become number one for our partners internationally.” With its headquarters in Austria and a strong parent company in the background, the company is constantly expanding its locations.

Good advice on promotion
The LOGICDATA management explains: “While advising HTS, we became aware of the funding opportunity. We then evaluated internally whether and for which area it would make sense to submit a project.” The future-oriented result was a comprehensive development concept for the system and process landscape of LOGICDATA. So we went to work with the good feeling of being structurally stronger and with renewed vigour.

Anticipate negative growth consequences
LOGICDATA has grown strongly in recent years, which means that internal processes have to be realigned in order to remain efficient. “Together with the number of employees and new, more complex processes, the number of systems used has also increased. These were often selected independently by the individual departments, resulting in a heterogeneous system landscape. The consequences are redundant (innovation) processes. They are often subject to media breaks, are carried out manually and require a high degree of implicit knowledge.” The system landscape was uncontrolled, so to speak, because there was no central contact point for this. The project was therefore an opportunity to get all departments on board on the one hand and to establish a standardized and traceable digitization process on the other.

Innovation strategically repositioned
With EDI, LOGICDATA was able to find a strong strategic partner for the analysis of the existing processes and systems, taking into account the additional functionalities required. The HTS project made it possible to create a concept to establish stable, efficient and scalable processes in a homogeneous system landscape in the medium and long term. The boost effect is already noticeable, but there are currently still few key process indicators that can be measured here: "This is a task that we still have to tackle. In any case, the goal is to increase the speed of innovation, reduce the time-to-market and accelerate or simplify our order-to-invoice process.”

Pioneering collaboration for more milestones
"The support from HTS was very important to us right from the development of the idea, back then personally at our headquarters in Deutschlandsberg. But even in lockdown, we agreed on the project status for every milestone that was reached. In any case, we felt very well looked after and look forward to further joint projects”. Based on the results, LOGICDATA has developed a roadmap for the system landscape 2023 and now it has to be implemented consistently. The first projects have already started, while others are still in the evaluation phase of suitable tools.

Learned a lot for a common vision
Armin Tüchler, Digital Transformation Manager, confirms: "Good digitization processes are necessary as a basis for growth, which contribute to high innovation speed and shorter time-to-market cycles. Our growth had often led to inefficient processes internally, for example through manual processes. We would like to thank HTS for their support!” In any case, the company felt very well looked after, from the development of the idea through to a high-quality result.

From the idea to the performance boost
In any case, the lessons learned are obvious: “The respective ideas of what digitization can contribute to the innovative strength and speed are very different within the team. This is exactly where it is important to start and to create a collective understanding of the benefits, but also of the prerequisites for it!”, the management summarizes the basis of successful innovation efforts. The reasoning behind it: Ultimately, projects can only be successful if everyone – from users to management – share a common vision.
