Success story Tyromotion – EDI

Our daily mission as market and innovation leader in the field of rehabilitation technology is to sustainably improve people's quality of life. Every day, with a team of almost 100 people, we move even more towards an overall solution that enables doctors and therapists to treat their patients
to be the focus of therapy.

"With the help of EDI, we were able to further expand our digitization potential and increase the degree of innovation of new developments."

Broadening horizons for established companies too

Alexander Kollreider, CTO of the Tyromotion GmbH, explains the entrepreneurial recipe for success: “In the Tyrotherapy concept, the focus of rehabilitation is on people. Where classic therapy and the latest technology strengthen and support each other, high-intensity, highly focused and highly motivating training can take place. Tyrotherapy helps therapists and patients do the right things at the right time. And this is independent of location, indication and phase of rehabilitation.” After the management became aware of Enabling Digital Innovation (EDI) through a recommendation from the company’s own network, things happened quickly: “The EDI experts gave us new perspectives on our R&D processes opened and expanded our digitization horizon again!"

EDI as a booster for the entire innovation process chain

CSO Wolfram Veitl on the role of the EDI funding project, which is being handled by Human.technology Styria (HTS): "The trend is clearly pointing in the direction of state-of-the-art robotic devices not only taking on purely repetitive movement tasks, but increasingly becoming involved in the integrate the therapeutic process. Digitization with all its possibilities plays a central role in this. Here, EDI was able to provide us with new, more agile innovation methods and help our development teams to further perfect our prototypes through tailor-made innovation processes.” the number of trained therapists is increasing only slowly.

Digital transformation for higher market maturity

In terms of consulting and sales, the company is very well positioned, but existing potential in the digital area was explored even better with EDI: "By using the latest digital technologies such as robotics, sensors, virtual reality or gamification, patients are treated with fun and motivation through the rehabilitation process," explain CSO Wolfram Veitl and CTO Alexander Kollreider. EDI enabled the internal innovation routines to be optimized and even better linked to quality management. Design thinking advanced to become a fixed concept component with an even higher degree of realization in terms of market maturity.
