About TIGER

The abbreviation TIGER stands for:
FosTering ehealth and social Iinnovations as Gexchangers in sEnior and Remote care

Human.technology Styria is part of the EU project TIGER until summer 2027. With a project volume of almost €2,7 million, TIGER focuses intensively on international solutions for elderly and remote care. Together with 11 project partners from Austria, France, Germany, Italy, and Slovenia, valuable expertise from across the Alpine region is being pooled to support SMEs in the healthcare sector in developing new and innovative products.

The project aims to provide companies in the Alps with access to international expertise and specialized innovation services . These new initiatives are intended to drive the development of urgently needed products and services in elderly and remote care, particularly in light of the increasing shortage of skilled workers. Through targeted innovation support services, SMEs receive valuable assistance in product development up to market readiness.

With the EU project TIGER, the ICS, together with its Styrian partners, is taking another important measure to prepare domestic SMEs for the challenges of the future and to strengthen their competitiveness in the global healthcare market.

A key component of the project is also the development of an online platform designed to promote exchange between experts, companies, and innovative offerings. This platform is expected to be available starting in fall 2025 and will help position the Alpine region (Austria, Slovenia, Italy, France, and Germany) as an innovation hub for participating companies. SMEs that already have initial solutions in the field of remote care can receive valuable support from the project in developing suitable business models.

The TIGER project is co-financed by ERDF funds from the Interreg Alpine Space programme of the European Union.
