"Only with ongoing digitization will we be one step ahead in the future."

Thomas Perissutti, Managing Director

Right gut feeling for digitization course
Thomas Perissutti, Managing Director at Institute AllergoSan: "Digitization is already an important topic at the AllergoSan institute and will undoubtedly continue to be of great importance for our company's success in the future. In addition to the system landscape within the company, various other areas of the company, such as marketing and sales, are subject to a strong change in the direction of digital consumer behavior of end consumers - especially in times of Corona. In the field of digitization, we are therefore striving for ongoing further development, because we are aware that this is the only way we will stay ahead of the pack in the future!" In a joint discussion, our project was discussed and the possibility of funding by the HTS was communicated. So we quickly found a 'match'.”

The challenges of digitization grow with the company
How the project began: The AllergoSan institute was looking for a way to combine the three major existing subject areas of merchandise management processes (operations), accounting and e-commerce in a new, common system in order to ensure that all processes mesh optimally, says Thomas Perissutti: " In the past, processes or solutions were repeatedly implemented on an ad hoc basis without keeping an eye on the big picture. Due to our strong and rapid growth, however, this was mostly unavoidable. Difficulties with interfaces between individual subject areas in the company were partly the result. With the new overall solution, these should now be a thing of the past and raise performance in all areas of the company to a new level.”

Performance-centric and rapid implementation
The funding of the ERDF project Enabling Digital Innovation by the HTS was used in the company in the scoping phase: "Because a very important success factor for a large project is a meticulous analysis of the current situation and target situation in combination with the development of a Road map necessary," explains Thomas Perissutti and adds: "Good planning takes time - this time, in turn, is then saved umpteen times during the implementation of the project." The result of the intensive scoping phase is now the starting point for extensive digitization measures in the Companies that improve performance in all areas - both qualitatively and quantitatively. "The cooperation with the human technology cluster - specifically with Carina Ricko - worked out perfectly," says Perissutti. All in all, hardly a year passed from the project idea to the final report. The very good communication ultimately made the successful transaction possible.

Open up new ways to the end customer
In general, the future system landscape should optimally accompany and promote the growth plans of the AllergoSan institute. In concrete terms, the new system should both support further internationalization in B2B business and be prepared to open up new paths in B2C business. Processes and systems must also support very complex logistics issues. Thomas Perissutti puts it more concretely: “It was precisely our increased internationalization activities that made it necessary to modernize our system landscape. Because the increasing internationalization of the company leads to more complex structures, such as subsidiaries abroad, which have to be mapped well with a system landscape adapted to the specific country.” In other words: the headquarters must be prepared accordingly for growth through further export activities.
