A TEAM COMMITTED TO THE DEMOCRATIZATION OF DNA & RNA SYNTHESIS „DNA is the foundation of life science – why can’t we synthesize DNA ourselves?“ That was the question that circled around in Alex’s head shortly after he, Martin and Bernhard founded one of Europe’s first biohackerspaces, the ‚Open Biolab Graz Austria‘, in 2013. Inspired by the simplicity of a Nespresso Machine, their quest to build the first personal DNA synthesizer began – Kilobaser/Mabeal.
